This month, our featured designer is Vani Sayeed of Vani Sayeed Studios. As an interior designer as well as a visual artist, Vani brings her creativity and knowledge to projects, creating interior environments unique to each of her clients. Her design and artistic aesthetic is deeply influenced by her cross-cultural experiences, love of art and architecture, and attention to detail. See her vision come to life in her “Zen Living” bathroom below!
To perfectly capture the “Zen Living” aesthetic Vani envisioned for this bathroom, she started by choosing a pair of monolithic marble washbasins from Kallista. Combined with stunning Watermark wall mounted faucets with a Carrara Marble stone insert for the control, this added a natural touch to the simple and clean lines which “evoke a calm, spa-like bathroom.” Vani then chose a circular Kartell mirror with a fan edge detail in amber. The smooth Bain Ultra oval 68” Opalia bathtub rounds out space – literally – and creates beautiful lines that complement the matching Watermark floor mount bath filler (not pictured). Vani’s final pick from our showroom was the sculptural Origami pendant lights from Troy lighting. “The lights are beautiful yet functional accents that emit a substantial amount of lumen, but also have a dimming option to create a softer ambiance.”
After browsing our showroom, Vani added some of her own finds. Ann Sack’s Light Reflecting Lucian Metallic Pewter tile adds subtle drama to the walls, while the Benedict Bianco Blend creates a magical pattern on the floor. Hudson and Vines’ finely sculpted resin mesh bathroom accessories and Matouk’s luxe towels transformed the room into a “lair of luxury.” To give the bathroom a touch of living organic texture and a true sense of Zen, Vani chose an arrangement from Winston Flowers to complete the space.
