Lindsay Bentis, founder of Thread Art and Design, draws inspiration from her background as a Los Angeles native. By using a unique mix of modern, natural and eclectic design, Lindsay perfectly blends her relaxed and contemporary West Coast aesthetic with the traditional East Coast. After visiting the Splash Showroom in Newton, Lindsay created an Inspiration Board for an Organic Modern Master Bathroom that perfectly showcases what she does at Thread Art and Design.
To create the natural modern look of this bathroom, Lindsay selected WETSTYLE’s wall-mount vanity and mirrored cabinet from the M Collection in a walnut finish. Both pieces are simple and minimal in design, which looks striking against the full wall of Zia Tile’s Aegean Zellige tile behind them. The irregularity and patina of the tile, also present on the shower and bathtub walls, adds an organic texture to the minimalistic design of the vanity and mirror. On top of the vanity is the WETSTYLE VCS30 sink from the cube collection, paired with Dornbracht’s Meta wall-mount single lever faucet in matte black.
Next, Lindsay chose the Dornbracht Tara showerhead and rain showerhead paired with Dornbracht’s Deque handshower and shower controls, all finished in matte black. Lindsay also selected the Dornbracht Tara freestanding bathtub filler in matte black to pair with Victoria + Albert’s Barcelona bathtub.
Without the tile, the stark white bathtub against the matte black may look too modern, but the wall and floor tile – Ann Sack’s Case Field Tile in shale – keep the space feeling warm. To add more texture, Lindsay chose Lekker Home’s Pile bath mat. The cool, color blocking design plays into the clean lines and modern shapes in the bathroom.
The walls that aren’t covered in tile are painted with Benajmin Moore’s Chantilly Lace. On the painted walls are Aricolo Lighting’s Domi wall sconces in mid-bronze. The structural shape of the wall sconces and bathtub were chosen to add interest to the space. Finally, Lindsay selected Sunland black Japanese waffle towels as a final touch in her Organic Modern Master Bathroom. Since Thread Art and Design is a full-service interior design firm, it’s typical for Lindsay to choose each and every last accessory for a true turn key experience.
