Mission Report
Traditional. Transitional. Contemporary. Modern. These are words you’ve probably seen thoUSAnds of times to describe a design style, but do you really know the difference? Last month, we saw Ilene design a Traditional bath and complete her mission. This month, Robin from Splash was charged with designing a Transitional bathroom. Transitional, simply put, is traditional design with an upgrade: sleek, sophisticated materials and finishes, metal accents and contemporary flare. Let’s see how she did.
Vanity
The Vague collection from Baden Haus is sleek, practical and available in multiple configurations based on your space. Paired with the glass left side sink, there is still plenty of counter space, even for a smaller bathroom. The contemporary matte black Flou faucet from Lacava ties together the transitional feel.
Shower
To match the faucet, the shower features the Lacava Flou tilting rectangular rain shower head and hand-held Lacava Cigno round shower head with a 59-inch hose, all in a beautiful and trendy matte black finish. Along with the Lacava Flou diverter which features a built-in pressure balancing mixer and anti-scald protection for temperature regulation.
Toilet
The Icera MUSE II one-piece toilet is perfect for transitional design with its slim profile, elongated bowl, and multiple metal finish options. It offers exceptional performance, optimal water efficiency, and a quiet flush mechanism.
Lighting
The Anya Mini Pendant Light from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting is stylish, bright, and available in multiple metal finishes. For this bathroom design, Robin chose to have two pendant lights hanging over the vanity.
Accessories
Of course, no bathroom is complete without accessories! Robin selected the Benedo Round Mirror from Uttermost in rustic black which has an industrial, yet delicate feel. An L-shaped toilet paper holder in matte black from Kartners’ Oslo collection finishes out this bathroom design with enough money left over to splurge on those plush towels you’ve been eyeing.
