Mission Report
Did you know that unlike traditional, transitional or modern, the term “contemporary design” doesn’t actually refer to one specific period in time? In fact, contemporary simply refers to the popular styles of present-day, meaning what’s trending right now. Our fearless Sales/Design Consultant, Tamara, was tasked with designing a contemporary bathroom with a generous $12,000 budget. Let’s see how she did.
Vanity
Tamara selected two Lacava Aqua Grande 29” consoles paired with the white porcelain sink from the same collection. The console has simple lines paired with a stainless steel finish and a crossbar perfect for hanging towels. The Kohler Purist faucet with its low-cross handles and low spout in polished chrome provide an understated style with just the right amount of flair. The vanity is completed with the addition of two Robern PL-Series Flat Mirror Medicine Cabinets, complete with three adjustable glass shelves.
Lighting
Three Uttermost Vanalen polished chrome sconces with white silk shades adorn the wall above the vanity. These elegant fixtures provide needed light without demanding too much attention.
Tub & Shower
The Crosswater Palermo Grande tub fits perfectly into this design with its minimalist design and sleek profile. Its ClearStone material resists stains, retains heat and reduces maintenance. To fill the tub, Tamara chose the Kohler Purist floor-mount bath filler with hand shower in polished chrome. The shower features the Crosswater Modern 8” Rainhead and Ceiling Mount Arm and Flange, the Crosswater Taos slide bar with hand shower, and the Kohler Purist Rite-Temp pressure-balancing valve with cross-handles, all in polished chrome. These products are all inspired by clean lines to complement today’s popular bathroom trends.
Toilet
The Icera Cadence One-piece toilet fits perfectly into this design and has a high-performance gravity flush with a silent-close, quick release seat and cover.
Accessories
It’s the little things that make the biggest difference! Tamara selected the Kartner’s Berlin glass shelf with toilet paper holder, 24” Seville Towel Bar and Seville Robe Hook to finish out this contemporary look.
Plumbing
Shopping for beautiful tubs and fixtures is the best part about designing a bathroom but it’s the products you put behind the scenes that determine just how relaxing your at-home oasis will be. When creating a budget, be sure to keep these products in mind. For this design, Tamara carefully selected high-quality products to keep all other fixtures working properly.
